Munich is surrounded by several beautiful lakes and thus a variety of leisure activities ranging from skiing, climbing, and hiking to golf, sailing, and other water sports are a short distance away.Munich is famous for its breweries, and the Weizenbier (wheat beer) is a speciality from Bavaria. The city's famous Oktoberfest attracts millions of people every year. Our office is next to exhibition grounds, a large shopping mall and recreational facilities including a small lake.
One of the key concepts behind open source is the idea to share knowledge and expertise using a process of open collaboration. The resulting knowledge and experience - combined with talented people - is at the heart of Optaros.
Optaros is an exciting workplace, if you are attracted by the concepts of open source, open innovation and open collaboration. Despite the strong open source and community background I personally have it is still surprising to see how well collaboration and knowledge transfer work for Optaros. We live a culture of learning, sharing of knowledge and information, while we are building a group expertise on a global level.
The kind of intelligence which we see in open source communities can be described as swarm intelligence, an intelligence based on the collective behavior of decentralized, self-organized systems. Our methodology and culture takes advantage of that approach to deliver optimized solutions to our customers, using a proven assembly process. Open source and the open source innovation approach can only lead to to a sustainable success if they are based on the solid foundations of experience and a level of professionalism which I experience at Optaros every day.
